Launched in 1994, Reel PROs
is the premier cold-reading/audition skills workshop provider for professional
actors in California. We specialize in assisting our actors
to hone the performance edge in their cold-reading and auditioning skills,
and expand their possibilities because of it.
Our charter was to found a company based on integrity and
a strong belief in the spirit of growth within each individual
actor. We not only accomplished that goal, we continue to
build on that premise. In fact, that premise IS Reel PROs. And because of it, our reputation is sterling.
Reel PROs not only draws
the best working actors in the industry, it draws the most
accomplished guest instructors who offer their extensive experience within the educational climate of Reel PROs. Every time an actor takes the Reel PROs stage, they practice and continue to develop their auditioning skills: how they interact personally with the casting person; how they own the space; how they control their physicality, nerves, energy and vocal levels for the given environment; their professionalism, confidence and pleasantness — everything they do in an audition that affects their success. The cold-reading aspect of Reel PROs’ workshops - which includes clear and specific redirection of scenes and/or constructive feedback, specifying what worked well and why, or what could be improved upon - hones their script analysis skills (the breaking down of a script for a character’s objectives and intentions) by focusing their time and energy on making strong and specific choices quickly. Actors who’ve mastered this skill have a significant leg up when asked in an audition to read additional scenes without ever having seen them before, or even perform a completely new role. Most importantly, if an actor is able to make strong, clear choices within the Reel PROs 15 minute cold-reading rehearsal period, imagine how much more layered their performance will be after a full day or more with a script! Reel PROs is composed
of three arenas:
- Reel PROs
2 - for actors who are a legal 18 or emancipated and
play between 18-26
- Players
- for actors who play 27-on
- Main Arena
- for actors who play 18-on who are invited to join from
RP2 or Players.
Main Arena members are
actors who cold-read at performance level-plus, actors who yet continue to hone their audition skills to an outstanding edge through Reel PROs education and training. It is because of the Main Arena that Reel PROs' reputation is so strong.
All Reel PROs arenas are
by membership. Only our members enjoy the benefits of our

PROs members participate in our highly regarded
