About Class: The goal of the class is to help students learn how to make strong, actionable character choices culminating in the delivery of an engaging and believable performance.

Students will work on developing their imagination and learn to make critical character choices relative to the given circumstances of the written material.  Each week students will work on scenes in class and may also be required to participate in cold readings and improvisational exercises as a way to better understand the emotional circumstances of their scene.  All levels of students are welcome.

Classes begin on January 10th, 2011 and will meet Mondays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Cost $150 per month.

 About Instructor: James Sharpe. Professional Actor (SAG – AFTRA – AEA) for over 25 years.  BA in Theatre from University of Massachusetts/Amherst. Also trained at Boston University’s School of Theatre; American Conservatory Theater in SF; Actors & Directors Lab, NY; HB Studios, NY; Elaine Aiken, NY; William Alderson, LA.

Mr. Sharpe studied directing at Smith College and has directed stage plays on both coasts.  He also created a professional training program at Playhouse West in Northern California (teens through adult) and taught on-camera, commercial and scene study classes.
